The Eye of Horus (or “Udjat”, or “Wadjet”) amulet was an essential part of the burial ritual in ancient Egypt. It was a mythological symbol, representing the falcon-god Horus' missing eye after the cataclysmic battle with his brother Seth. When buried with a mummy, it symbolized a portal, a guiding eye into the afterlife.
