Product Description
Being offered today is a SUPER RARE, HIGH GRADE, AND SUPERB example of a 1939 D (Denver) with a 1938 D Jefferson Nickel reverse ERROR COIN!! This beautiful coin also has major iridium toning on BOTH sides of the coin.
This Jefferson Nickel is graded by NGC in Mint State 66. The 1939 D is recognized as the key date for the Jefferson Nickel series.
If you look on the reverse of the coin the strike is WAY off center, making this a MAJOR ERROR coin. Error coins are much harder to find because the mint highly scrutinizes all coins for a perfect strike. It is very rare that these coins were released from the mint into the public.
The Iridium toning on this coin shows a rainbow of colors. There is blue, red, yellow, and gold ON BOTH SIDES. The pictures do not show how deep the coloring is.
This is very rare to see this on any Nickel.
What is Iridium in the world of coins? This occurs when the complete coin surface is toned. In this case the both sides of the coin are completely toned.
This coin is an unusually nice high-end survivor with a sharp strike.
This rare 1939 D Reverse of 1938 D Jefferson Nickel is a true gem for any collector. With its impeccable MS 66 grade, certified by NGC, it is a must-have for those who appreciate the value of rare coins. The strike on this coin showcases the intricate details of the design, making it a beautiful addition to any collection.
This coin is encased and sealed by NGC. Every NGC certified coin is backed by the industry leading NGC guarantee, which provides greater protection for both BUYERS AND SELLERS.
