Product Description

Offered here are 3 consecutive high grade $1 Dollar 1923 PMG Large size series Silver Certificate Notes. The first 2 notes are graded in PMG 64 EPQ (Exceptional Paper Quality) and the 3rd note is graded in 63 EPQ.

The Silver Certificate is designated by the Blue Seal on the left center of the note. It also has “Silver Certificate” on the top center of the note. This note was called the “Saddle Back” or “Horse blanket” due to the fact of the design on the back and the size of the note. This was the last large size US dollar bill issued in this series. The notes also have blue and red threads throughout the notes. That is one of the reasons that makes these notes so beautiful. This was another way that the Bureau of Engraving and Printing prevented these notes from being counterfeited.

These notes are centered very well, and the ink just pops off the notes. The colors are bright and bold. The notes have fantastic eye appeal. These notes show no sign of wear on the corners or the sides. All of the corners and edges of the notes are crisp and clean. There are no pinholes, rips, stains, or tears. Each note will be encased in a long-term preservation holder to enhance the presentation and protect against tampering.

The 1923 $1 dollar Silver Certificate series has 3 different notes in the series. This note carries the FR 237 number. The series is defined by the different Friedberg numbers. They are:
— FR 237 with the signatures of Speelman and White.
— FR 238, with the signatures of Woods and White.
— FR 239 with the signatures of Woods and Tate.
The Sheldon Grading Scale is what all grading services use to grade currency or coins. It was first used in the United States in the late 1940’s and is still being used today. The highest grade awarded in the Sheldon Grading Scale is 70. The grade for this note is 66, which is a premium quality note, but it is still affordable to the collector. The signatures on this note are Speelman on the left and White on the right. A lot of collectors will collect the entire series in a designated note, which adds to the fun of collecting currency as there are many options.
