Product Description
From 1892 through 1954, the U.S. Mint produced special commemorative coins for 53 different events, occasions, and individuals. This resulted in the production of over 180 silver and gold commemorative coins during that time period. Offered here is the first true silver commemorative half dollar struck by the United States Mint. This commemorative was struck to commemorate the teachings and ideals of African American educator and presidential advisor Booker T. Washington. Offered here is a pleasant example hand-selected by professional numismatists after screening thousands of coins for quality and eye-appeal. Each coin is housed in an airtight capsule and presented in a plush-lined box with display easel, magnetic lid, and certificate of authenticity. The coin is unconditionally guaranteed to be genuine, dated between 1946 and 1951, and will match the quality of the one shown.
